Aspens Box Art

The Rocky Mountains are home to many Aspen groves of clonal colonies. These colonies have a root system that allows them to spread and regenerate. Although the trees themselves grow and die within a normal range, the root system can be very old, one large colony in Utah is estimated to be 80,000 years old. Anyone who has spent time in a large aspen grove can attest to the mystical feelings that come over you when you are in their presence.
