In the early 1900s, the government was working on ways to get tourists out west to the incredible national parks that had been established. Since automobile travel was not practical for long distances, the job fell to the railroads. The Great Northern railroad was created expressly to bring people to Glacier National Park and the lodges that had been built by the WPA workers. The same was true for a number of locations in the Rocky Mountains and so trains like the Empire Builder were created to bring a luxury travel experience to the plains and mountains of the West. Pictured in this amazing wall art is the Royal Gorge Route in Colorado. The vistas afforded to passengers were breathtaking and intimidating. Imagine sitting in the cocktail lounge and looking out at the incredible scenery passing by. In this image, the train is stopped and people have disembarked perhaps to observe wildlife or stretch their legs. Every train lover is going to really enjoy this vintage style sign. There are two lines to personalize with your favorite train tour or park name and state. Available in 4 sizes of wood or metal. Metal signs have rolled edges and grommets in the four corners, wood signs are made from locally sourced engineered wood and come with a sawtooth bracket mounted on the back. They are substantial and durable, wood signs are intended for indoor use while metal signs can be utilized indoors or out. Our creations are built to last for years, becoming cherished heirlooms that will be handed down through generations.
